The Unveiling: A Two-Part Artistic Odyssey

Embark on one last lap of this creative odyssey with Kjetil Golid's inspired collaborations, Decision Matrix and Risk/Reward.

Decision Matrix is a complex interplay of cogwheels and stacks of chips, in which each piece uniquely represents one of the 377 races in which Oracle Red Bull Racing has participated, commemorating its 20th anniversary this year.

Risk/Reward is a series that reflects on the high stakes and complex dynamics of Formula 1, where the balance between calculated risk and potential reward defines the thin line between victory and defeat.

Insights Into Kjetil Golid’s Process

In case you missed the launch tidbits on X (formerly Twitter), here’s a summary of insights into Kjetil’s process — and what to look forward to for this drop!

Q: What inspired you to pursue this career path?

A: I've always been fascinated by the intersection of mathematics and art/design. Discovering a field where people used algorithms to create visuals was a game changer for me. It motivated me to learn programming and dive deeper into complex algorithms and data structures. This passion has stuck with me, and now I'm thrilled to be able to make a living doing what I love.

Q: How long does it take to finish a project?

A: That's actually not an easy question to answer for a couple of reasons. First, the time it takes can vary widely. Second, my approach to creating art is similar to how I approach software development: I build small snippets or libraries that perform specific tasks I find interesting. Initially, these might not have any visual component but are more about creating a data structure that I plan to visualize later.

Q: Without giving too much away, what was the most fun part of the recent promo video shoot for Velocity Series 2.0 in Norway? What made you laugh?

A: Working with the crew was a total blast! We spent the day roaming the streets of my hometown, and I even discovered some new spots I’d never visited before. The whole experience was just filled with laughter and good vibes. 😄

Q: What can we expect from your collaboration with Red Bull Racing and AOI?

A: Expect a collection that is unmistakably my style, evolving some ideas I've explored before, plus experimenting with concepts I've toyed with for a long time but hadn't found the right project for until now. 🙂
